Saffron Road’s newest autumn lookbook has dropped! We headed down to the beach in between storm clouds, rain, rainbows and sun for this shoot! Larissa from Busy Models was our model and we were photographing the new autumn drop for Saffron Road.
We didn’t have a lot of time to shoot as the weather was going in and out of pouring rain and sun, so to get the most out of the time I tried to shoot each look a few different ways. To make the most of the environment I switched up between having the sun falling directly on her, to using it behind as a backlight so we’d have lots of variety and options to pick from later.
These lookbook photos were for shot with their social media account in mind, so I wanted to try and get lots of different options and lighting setups while still showing off the garments and trying to keep their branding colours in mind. The tones we’re working with for autumn are quite brown and warm, so I tried to incorporate that in the backdrop as well but making sure the dresses still stood out.
For this lookbook, I wanted it to feel natural, not posed and candid. Larissa was amazing with her posing as it looked natural and the wind just added to it! I love shooting outdoors because of this and how unpredictable it can be sometimes. For outdoor shoots, I always recommend shooting late afternoon or early morning for the best light!
